How can I find out the exact media settings for my substrate?

To get the best quality and prevent hardware issues when introducing a new type or brand of media, it is important to know the exact printer settings.

When using certified and supported media, the necessary information is typically provided by the manufacturer or the reseller. Please contact the source of your media

If the media in question is not supported, please carefully follow the instructions and procedures described in the printer manual / User's guide, as use of media incompatible with your printer, may cause damage to the hardware. 

If the media in question is not certified but generally suitable for printers of this type, you can typically use a similar media set, such as a similar type of canvas or foil, as starting point and adjust the settings from there. This requires an experienced operator and is done at the operator's risk.
