Calibration Creation Wizard for VersaUV LEC2-330 / LEC2-640

VersaUV LEC2 series is supported by GMG ColorProof to create color accurate and reproducible prototype proofs from version 5.13.1 on. Now, you will be able to create a custom calibration set and a corresponding output condition for GMG OpenColor fast and easy with the Calibration Creation Wizard for this printer.

New Paper pattern sample files for Cardboard

The paper structure simulation feature allows you to simulate the structure of materials with visible patterns such as recycled paper, corrugated cardboard, and textile on proof media. To help new users get started with this feature, two new sample files for Kraftliner and Testliner are now shipped with the product.

FOGRA replaced FOGRA53 (eciCMYK) with FOGRA59 (eciCMYK V2) characterizing a process-independent exchange color space. The new version of GMG ColorProof provides new proof standards to support FOGRA59.

Prototype proofing with VersaUV LEC2-330 / LEC2-640

VersaUV LEC2 series driven by GMG ColorProof is used to create color accurate and reproducible prototype proofs. The new printer model is the successor to Roland VersaUV LEC-300 and features an LED curing system and additional ECO-UV inks in White and Gloss.

One-click update

From now on, the license information on the USB dongle will be updated automatically when a new chargeable version is released and if you have a GMG Software Update Contract (SUC).

All PDF and images in the cloud will be safe-guarded by an end-to-end encryption using individual private keys on each GMG ColorProof system, which provides the highest level of data security. No one without a key will be able to access the content.

End-of-Service-Life: X-Rite i1 And X-Rite i1iO

GMG ColorProof will not support the measuring devices X-Rite i1 and X-Rite i1iO, which have already been taken out of production by X-Rite, anymore. Newer generations of the product, i.e. X-Rite i1Pro2 / X-Rite i1iO 2nd Generation, X-Rite i1Pro3 / X-Rite i1iO 3rd Generation, and X-Rite i1Pro3 Plus / X-Rite i1iO 3rd Generation Plus will still be supported.

Verification of multicolor control strips from FOGRA and IDEAlliance

GMG ColorProof and GMG OpenColor are the ideal solution for proofing jobs prepared for a multicolor print process—traditional spot color printing as well as a fixed ink setup or ECG. It has already been possible to print, measure, and validate GMG control strips with spot colors in earlier versions of GMG ColorProof. Now, this version fully supports multicolor control strips defined by official print standards, i.e. FOGRA MediaWedge Multicolor 5C, 6C, 7C, 8C and the newly added IDEAlliance ECG Digital Control Strip 2019. With an Epson proofer and an integrated ILS30 measuring device, the strips are now automatically measured and a verification label is printed on the proof.

Custom tolerances for proof verification using dynamic GMG OpenColor profiling

For static profiling with GMG OpenColor, it was already possible to either calculate the CMYK target values from the proof profile or to use the target values from a GMG ProofControl Print Standard XML. This feature is now supported for dynamic GMG OpenColor profiling as well. Proof verification works in the same way for static and dynamic profiling. Now you can define your own custom tolerances in the GMG ProofControl Print Standard.

Up-to-date information from the online help

The revamped GMG ColorProof Helpcenter is always up-to-date and offers you a whole lot of information such as a version history, feature descriptions, and step-by-step instructions. Each dialog box has a context-sensitive link to the helpcenter. Just hit the F1 key and the browser will show you the relevant information. Alternatively, you can access the helpcenter from the main menu: Help > Show Help.
