For some packagings you might want to print a white undercoat. You can do this by adding a white channel to an OpenColor profile.
1. Open the Proofing Condition within a project and scroll down to the White Undercoat settings:
2. Select Use Undercoat to add a white channel to the proof profile:
3. Set a White ink level to determine the opacity of the white ink:
The entered value defines how much ink will be applied for the undercoat or spot color channel when the corresponding image channel is set to 100% in GMG ColorProof. The minimum value is 10%, as there is no substantial difference between 1% and 10%.
Please note: If the channel is set to 50% in OpenColor and to 30% in ColorProof (as intensity of the coating channel), a total of 15% white will be printed.
4. Select a White Ink Gradation for the white channel:To create a gradation for the white ink, please see the topic Gradation curves.

For the white channel, you can define whether it shall print "Full Frame" (= complete area) or "Only Non-Transparent Areas" (for areas you want to keep transparent). You can also set the intensity in %.
