Seamless synchronization between GMG SmartProfiler and GMG OpenColor
This version improves the synchronization of project data created by GMG SmartProfiler in GMG OpenColor. In previous versions, when you edited an existing GMG SmartProfiler document and then clicked Calculate & Publish, a new project with new separation rules and profiles was created in GMG OpenColor. Now, GMG SmartProfiler will update the already existing project and replace separation rules and profiles in GMG OpenColor. This will increase work efficiency and helps to keep a better overview and to avoid errors.

Optimized CPU usage on a client connected to GMG OpenColor
The processor utilization on a client connected to GMG OpenColor is now optimized, resulting in a higher computer performance and avoiding an unnecessary high CPU load when the application is idle.
Improved stability of the Calculate & Publish step in GMG SmartProfiler
The Calculate & Publish step finishes successfully even in case of a short connection loss between the server and GMG OpenColor.
End-of-Service-Life: X-Rite i1 and X-Rite i1iO
GMG ColorServer will not support the measuring devices X-Rite i1 and X-Rite i1iO, which have already been taken out of production by X-Rite, anymore. Newer generations of the product, i.e. X-Rite i1Pro2 / X-Rite i1iO 2nd Generation, X-Rite i1Pro3 / X-Rite i1iO 3rd Generation, and X-Rite i1Pro3 Plus / X-Rite i1iO 3rd Generation Plus will still be supported.

Fail-safe averaging of multiple measurements in GMG SmartProfiler
GMG SmartProfiler supports measuring a test chart multiple times and will automatically average the measurement data. In previous versions, it was possible to switch the measurement condition in-between measurements. In the end, this led to wrong measurement results. Now, this unwanted behavior is prevented and you will be notified when the currently selected measurement condition does not match with the one from previous measurements.
New input color spaces for GMG SmartProfiler
GMG SmartProfiler uses GMG OpenColor projects as input color spaces. GMG OpenColor 2.4.2 includes three new projects already preconfigured in compliance to the official print standard, i.e. GRACoL 2013 Coated (CRPC 6), ISO Coated v2 (39L), and PSO Coated v3 (51L). All new projects include the new spot color library PANTONE® Solid Coated v4. CMYK output intent ICC for separation profiles
When calculating a separation profile that includes CMYK channels, GMG OpenColor 2.4.2 now automatically saves a CMYK output intent ICC profile within the profile. If the option Add PDF Output Intent is used in the PDF Processing template in GMG ColorServer, this ICC profile will be used as output intent in the output PDF. Automatic spot color synchronization with GMG OpenColor
The new version makes the automatic synchronization introduced in version 5.2 fail-safe: You will always have the latest spot color separation data from the related GMG OpenColor project. You see at a glance that all spot colors are in sync. Easily check the source project in GMG OpenColor and the date and time of the last update. You will be notified in case the synchronization fails and see which spot color libraries are out of sync.

Support of X-Rite i1Pro3 Plus and i1iO Generation 3 Plus Table
GMG ColorServer now fully supports the new measuring device from X-Rite. With a new larger aperture of 8 mm, it enables profiling of a broad range of substrates, especially substrates with uneven surface such as cardboard. It reduces color measurement variability with optional polarization capabilities (M3 measurement condition) minimizing gloss effects and reflections when measuring high gloss media or prints with varnish.

Performance optimization by log cleanup routines
Log files are now cleaned up periodically, to ensure that the system works as effectively as possible.

Full support of new PSR V2 standards for M1 measuring condition
The new version completes the profile package for the five new PSR V2 standards. It includes reseparation profiles for all five standards and profiles for the conversion from and to the print standards PSO LWC Improved (45L), PSO LWC Standard (46L), and SC Paper (40L).

Recently, the ECI has updated the PSR standard to support the M1 measuring condition. The new version of GMG ColorServer provides new conversion and GMG InkOptimizer profiles.

Synchronization of spot color libraries with GMG OpenColor
What happens if spot colors are edited in GMG OpenColor? The new version of GMG ColorServer ensures that you will be informed of any changes. You can then update the spot color library on a single click. Alternatively, you can also activate an automatic synchronization.

License status information
GMG ColorServer now shows dynamic information on the license status in the status bar.

What is also new: Introduction of new GMG ColorServer solution bundles

As an alternative to the standard GMG ColorServer product, we now offer three solution bundles. Everything you need for the task is right at your hands. You will not need any additional licenses or options. This includes GMG InkOptimizer for conventional printing, EcoSave for digital printing, and GMG OpenColor, the award winning profiler that accurately predicts the overprinting behavior and color interplay with only a minimum of measurement data and test charts required. Please note that the solution bundles are not part of version 5.2 and need to be purchased separately.
