New in version 5.1.1 - March 19, 2020
Improved handling of overprinting effects for PDF processing without flattening
Processing PDF data containing transparency or overprinting effects can sometimes lead to unwanted visual results if flattening is disabled. With the new functionality, GMG ColorServer ensures that color management preserves the visual appearance of overprinting areas as good as possible, even if the Flattening option is switched off.
Note: Please note that, however, color accuracy in areas with overprints and transparencies can be achieved only with flattening.

New in version 5.1 - September 26, 2019
GMG OpenColor separation profile support
Customized printing conditions made easy: GMG ColorServer 5.1 now supports a direct connection to GMG OpenColor and lets you use its separation profiles.
More about the advantages and how it works:
How much time do you need for retouching your files if they are out of an industry standard? Wouldn‘t it be nice to just drop your files into a folder and have them automatically converted to your custom press conditions?
This is exactly what GMG ColorServer and GMG OpenColor can do for you. GMG ColorServer 5.1 now supports a direct connection to GMG OpenColor. You will be able to create separation profiles and spot color libraries for custom CMYK printing conditions without expert knowledge required in GMG OpenColor. You can then easily use these separation profiles in GMG ColorServer.
In GMG OpenColor, you can easily create separation profiles and spot color libraries for your specific print production process. GMG OpenColor's prediction engine gets the most out of each combination of printing substrate, ink set, and printing technology. With color management resources shared over the network, you will not need to switch between computers and manually transfer profiles anymore. You will be able to simply access your GMG OpenColor separation projects from the resource management in GMG ColorServer.
The key benefits of this solution include:
- simplification of the profile management workflow
- easy profile creation for custom printing conditions
- automation of the conversion between all print standards
- consistent results on press
