ColorProof Contone profiles (MX4) can be converted in the ProfileEditor as follows.
WAY 1: Convert your existing profiles using the new gamut
- Export the original target values from GMG ProofPaper matte 140
- Estimate and export the current values from GMG ProofPaper matte 140
- Open a copy of the profile you want to adjust for GMG ProofMedia studio matte 200
- Import the current values (of GMG ProofPaper matte 140) as target values in this new profile
- Load the gamut of GMG ProofMedia studio matte 200
- Perform the option "Calculate from target values"
- Import the original target values of GMG ProofPaper matte 140 into the new profile
- Save (without calculating again)
WAY 2: Use a conversion profile
- Download the profile conversion files: https://sdla.webservice.gmgcolor.com/Knowledge%20Base/Zendesk%20HelpCenter/ProfileEditor_ConversionFiles_GMGmatte200.zip
- Copy the CNV and XML files in C:\Program Files (x86)\GMG\ProfileEditor\Resources\Conversions
- ProfileEditor: Tools > Convert Profile…
- Choose the conversion: GMG ProofPaper matte 140 --> GMG ProofMedia studio matte 200
ColorProof Dotproof profiles (MX5) can be iterated or newly created.
ColorProof Spot Color Databases (DB3) can be re-calculated in the following way.
- Open the DB3 spot color database
- Estimate the current values in the existing DB3
- Change the gamut
- Now calculate from the current values
- Save the DB3 with another name
OpenColor profiles (MXN, MXD) cannot be converted.
MXN profiles can be re-calculated.
OpenColor projects can be changed to the new medium in the following way.
- Open the project that shall be switched to GMG ProofMedia studio matte 200 (or create a copy of the existing project)
- Delete the existing Proofing Condition (Click the X)
- Select the required proofing condition for GMG ProofMedia studio matte 200 from the database
- Calculate your profiles
