- IO table is on a flat level stable surface and is not shaking when measuring.
- 2 sheets of GMG semimatte 250 taped to the io table as backer. If the substrate you printed on is not 100% opaque the i1 measurements will be influenced by any dirt from the white static table.
- Glider ring is properly installed.
- Head is properly connected to USB cable.
- Head is pushed down and locked in. Tip: If you lift the head up the clear plastic base should also lift.
- Head is lowered all the way and glider ring is in contact with the test chart at all times.
- Test charts should be handled with care and wiped clean with a lint free cloth prior to measuring.
- The test charts are cut and taped to the io table in such a way so the i1 is not hitting the tape or measuring the tape or some of the patches on the left, right, bottom or top are not trimmed or trimmed so tightly that it may not measure correctly.
- The arm is free and clear and not hitting anything while measuring.
Here is what a gamut looks like if you don't have the i1pro3 pushed in and locked into the IO3 table properly.

Here are the same charts measured with it pressed down and locked in properly....
