Check the Spectroproofer backing color on your printer and in GMG ColorProof
GMG ColorProofuses the white measuring backing color by default. Please check this setting: Output > Printers > Available Printers > Open the properties of the printer > General Settings > Printer Settings > Backing
The backing color defined in the printer must correspond. Please check this setting on your printer. Here is an example of an Epson Surecolor SC-P7500, for which the setting is found on the printer display under: Menu > Status > Spectroproofer > Backing color > white
For the Epson Surecolor SC-P7000 the setting is found on the printer display under: Menu > Option Setup > Spectroproofer > SProofer Status > Backing color
Does the printer state that the backing color is grey?
In this case, the measuring unit is dirty.
- Please remove the measuring unit.
- Clean the measuring background and the white tile.
- Reinstall the measuring unit.

What can I do if Grey is still displayed as backing color after cleaning?
The internal measuring unit may be defective. Please contact your Epson sales channel partner to discuss how to proceed.
