With GMG ColorProof 5.14 and later, you can request an improved MXN profiling from GMG OpenColor and thus receive high resolution profiles up to 15 times faster than before. With the latest technology, you can get more multicolor jobs done in a shorter time while also increasing the proof quality.
Receive high resolution multicolor profiles up to 15x faster.
Compatible with GMG OpenColor 3.0 and later
GMG ColorProof 5.14 and later requests the latest MXN profiling by default so that you will get the best possible profiling results and performance. However, the improved MXN technology can only be provided by GMG OpenColor 3.0 and later. If you request MXN profiles from earlier versions, those will always be created with the legacy MXN profiling.
Request legacy profiling from GMG OpenColor 3.0 or later
The latest MXN profiling provides the best results and is therefore the method of choice. If you want to disable it for a specific job though, you can do that in the job's proof standard. Then the legacy profiling will be used.
- Start GMG ColorProof.
- From the main menu, select Database.
- Under Proofing Conditions > Proof Standards, double-click on the relevant proof standard.
A dialog opens. - Under Database Connection, disable the check box for Use latest MXN profiling.
- Click on Save to apply the changes.
- Restart GMG ColorProof for the change to take effect.
We don't recommend you to disable the latest MXN profiling in general, as it ensures the best profiling results in terms of quality, performance, and file size. However, if you still want to completely disable the latest profiling for all jobs and always request legacy profiling, you can do so.
- Start GMG ColorProof.
- From the main menu, select System.
- Under General > Centralized Color Management Settings, disable the check box for Use latest MXN profiling.
- Click on Save to apply the changes.
- Restart GMG ColorProof for the change to take effect.
Request profiles with GMG ColorProof 5.13 or earlier
If you request MXN profiles dynamically with GMG ColorProof 5.13 or earlier, it does not matter which GMG OpenColor version is used for profiling: you will always receive compatible profiles created with the legacy profiling here. However, if someone wants to manually create a static MXN profile for you with GMG OpenColor 3.0 or later, they need to temporarily disable the latest MXN profiling for that. If they use the latest MXN profiling, the profiles cannot be used with GMG ColorProof 5.13 and earlier.
