How to switch back to a hardware dongle

In most cases, you do not need to switch from online licensing back to dongle licensing. However, you may want to use a hardware dongle again in the following situations:

• Your system is usually offline and cannot connect to the license server at least once every 60 days.
• The software was started without the dongle connected, causing a new online license serial number to be generated.
• You prefer to manage licensing using a physical USB dongle.

Before you begin

Make sure that:

• The online license system is empty - no licenses should be displayed in the online licensing window.
• The hardware dongle is connected to the computer.
• You have closed any running instances of the software before changing the licensing mode.

Switch to dongle licensing

1. Start the AppService.
2. Go to "Options" (cogwheel symbol).
3. Select Switch to dongle licensing.
4. Confirm the change if prompted.
5. Verify that the software starts successfully with the dongle connected.
