GMG Online Licensing utilizes a system fingerprint, relying on certain parameters to generate a unique system ID. Changes to these parameters (such as altering the Windows domain) result in a mismatch, causing the licensing to cease functioning for a few moments. Although occurrences of this issue are infrequent, we understand the importance of preventing unnecessary interruptions. To address this, we've extended our automatic repair function so that in the event of such changes, the system will automatically update the hardware ID to maintain seamless operation.
Typically, system changes do not occur while our software is running and are executed before or after application usage. During the startup of GMG software, the ID is checked and automatically repaired if required without impacting on the software initialization.
In the rare case that your IT department or Admin changes system parameters while GMG software is running, users will receive the following notification in the UI, and for a brief period, the GMG software will not be operational. If this happens, please wait a few minutes until the process is complete.
