How to switch back to a hardware dongle

In most cases, switching from online licensing back to dongle licensing is not necessary. However, there may be exceptional situations where you may want to revert to using a dongle.

For example, if the software is started without a dongle connected, a new -empty- online license serial number may be generated. In this case, you can reconnect the dongle and switch back to dongle licensing.

To switch back:

Go to: Options → Switch to dongle licensing

Note: The above is only valid if the online license is empty (see above screenshot: no licenses are displayed in the window)
If you have already converted your dongle-based licenses to online licenses, this action cannot be reversed. Once dongle licenses are transferred to an online serial number, the dongle is automatically set to expire 14 days after the conversion. See also: Switch from dongle licensing to online licensing
