Spot Color Editor can be used to measure an Lab value. An i1 is required.
First, open Spot Color Editor via the Start Menu or via ColorProof (Tools menu).
Go to File > Open > C:\Users\Public\GMG\ColorProof\SpotColors or C:\Program Files (x86)\GMG\ColorProof05\SpotColors and choose any spot color set to open. The ‘Embedded.db3’ database is empty.
Right click on the set and choose ‘Add New Color’.
Then, navigate to the Color_1 spot and select an empty target value row.
Press M on your keyboard whilst the i1 is connected to read the Lab value.
The first reading may just be the calibration reading. If it pops up asking to calibrate the white tile, directly after this remove the target values and measure again with the M key.
