You can add new spot colors to an existing library or redefine an existing spot color by entering a new LAB value. When you replace a spot color using a new LAB target, the previous spectral definition is removed and all related tints are recalculated automatically.
Note: The spot color name remains unchanged. This ensures that the ink/color reference in existing workflows stays intact.
How to add or replace a spot color
- Go to the Database page.
- Under Characterizations, select an existing spot color library and open it. (GMG spot color libraries are read-only. You will need to duplicate a GMG spot color library first to customize it.)
- In the Tools & Actions panel, use the spot color tools to:
- Add a new spot color, or
- Edit an existing spot color by entering a new LAB value (Repace LAB Spot Color)
