You can adjust the paper tint in two ways, depending on your workflow:
Via the Color Correction dialog
Via the Media Settings in a project or characterization
Note: Paper tint corrections typically affect all inks set to Relative, not only the white point. This ensures consistent color adaptation across the profile.
Method 1: Paper tint correction via Color Corrections
- From a Project (or characterization), on the Tools & Actions panel, click Color Corrections.
- From the ink list on the left, select Media.
- Import a spectral paper tint measurement (1).
-OR-
Directly edit the Target Value as a lab value (2).
-OR-
Select another media from the media list under Target Media Type (4).
The paper tint will be changed accordingly and the preview will be updated (3). - If you imported or directly edited the paper tint, click Save to Database (disc icon) to save it and other media related properties (5) as a new custom medium to the database.
- Click OK to apply the changes. Once saved, the custom media will be available for reuse in any project that uses the same media type. It will also appear in the Database under Media.
Method 2: Paper tint correction via the Media Settings
- From a Project (or characterization), expand the Media settings.
- Select the Media Type of your target media, e.g. Premium Coated.
- Under Paper Tint, select your custom media.
The preview patch and the corresponding Lab value will change accordingly. If profiles have already been calculated using the previous media, a Change Management prompt will appear. It lists all profiles that will become outdated once you save:
- Click Yes to continue.
- Save your changes.
