Job Ticket Hotfolder - Additional parameters – GMG Support

With PDF processing, normalization, and conversion, the job ticket hotfolder can perform the same core processing tasks as a standard PDF hotfolder.

Job tickets also support additional job-specific functions that are not available—or would require manual configuration—in a standard hotfolder:

Unlike the general job parameters, the structure within OverrideParams is predefined. It cannot be customized or mapped by using XPath.

Channel Mapping Rules

Channel Mapping Rules and Layer Rules give you control over unknown or technical spot colors and PDF layers, such as die-cut contours.

When using a standard PDF hotfolder, you need to manually update the rules in ColorServer whenever a job contains previously unknown spot colors or layers, or when different rules are required for a specific job.

With a job ticket hotfolder, you can define Channel Mapping and Layer Rules directly in the job ticket. This allows, for example, your MIS or workflow system to manage the spot-color and layer handling for each job and pass the required rules to ColorServer automatically.
