We recommend customizing the panel view in Adobe® Illustrator® for your color conversion workflow and saving it as a workspace. This way, you can seamlessly switch from other Adobe® Illustrator® tasks to your color conversion setup and have quick access to the functions you need with GMG ColorPlugin.
Example workspace for color conversion
The following example shows a proven panel setup for color conversion with ColorPlugin for Adobe® Illustrator®. Feel free to replicate it or create your own variant.
- GMG ColorPlugin: Use this panel to transform color objects.
- Separation Preview: Use this panel to review the color channels in the file. Activate the 'Overprint Preview' option to view all channels simultaneously, or select/deselect individual channels to see which channels are used by specific objects.
- Links: Use this panel to manage embedded images.
- Color: Use this panel to review the output values of selected objects.
- Gradient: Use this panel to review the color gradient information of selected objects.
- Appearance: Use this panel to review the appearance properties of selected objects.
- Layers: Use this panel to review all layers in the file.
Save a view as workspace
To save a panel view as workspace, click the 'Switch Workspace' icon in the upper right corner and select 'New Workspace'. Then enter the name for your new workspace and click 'Save'.
Switch between workspaces
To open a saved panel view, click the 'Switch Workspace' icon in the upper right corner and select the workspace to switch to from the list.
