Automatic update notifications

GMG OpenColor regularly checks for updates in the background. You will automatically be notified by a pop-up message as soon as a new update available and you have the required license for it.

You can then install the update either immediately or at a later time directly from the application. Alternatively, you can still download and install new versions manually by using our download area.

Make sure that all background tasks are completed before you install a new version. You can check this in the main menu at the top right by looking at the Tasks icon Image of the Tasks icon. The icon then shows a 0 and the progress border is empty. 

How to postpone the update installation

If you want to update GMG OpenColor later, please proceed as follows:

1. Click the button Not now.
   The popup closes.

2. After 24 hours, you will receive another patch notification and can decide again whether you want to update GMG OpenColor.

You can postpone the update as often as you like by clicking the Not now button. If you do not want to be reminded of this update anymore, tick the Do not show again checkbox additionally. You will then only receive a notification again when another update is available for GMG OpenColor.

In both cases, you can always access the update dialog manually from the main menu via Options (gear icon) > Search for Updates.

How to disable the automatic update notification

We recommend you to not turn off the automatic update notification. You will only benefit from all new features and stability improvements with an up-to-date system. If you still want to disable the feature completely, you can do so as follows:

1. From the main menu, choose Options (gear icon) > Preferences....
   A dialog opens.
2. Remove the check mark under Preferences > General Settings > Check for Updates.
   Click the button Save to apply the changes.
   You will no longer receive update notifications.
