GMG OpenColor enables precise profile creation within a project encompassing all parameters relevant to the printing process—such as media type, ink settings, and a characterization. Profiles generated in OpenColor ensure reliable color management across various production scenarios.

  • Static Profiles
    Static profiles are designed for specific projects with fully defined parameters. Once created, these profiles can be exported and imported into GMG ColorProof, GMG ColorServer, or GMG ColorPlugin. This approach provides complete control over all profile settings, resulting in high predictability and consistency for repeat jobs or standardized production environments.
  • Dynamic Profiles
    Dynamic profiles streamline workflow by leveraging a project’s characterization and spot color library to calculate profiles automatically for each job. Rather than manually creating a profile for every project variation, OpenColor calculates the optimal profile on-the-fly in response to the relevant application’s requirements. This automation delivers reliable results in the majority of cases, significantly reducing setup time and simplifying the profiling process for fast-changing or variable production conditions.
