Preparation

• Verify that your system meets the system requirements
• Disconnect any measuring devices from the computer; otherwise, drivers may not install correctly.
• Ensure no Microsoft system updates are running in the background, as they could interrupt the installation.
• Define the required paths as exception in the virus scanner and in Windows Defender.
• Check if the required ports and hosts are set in the firewall configuration.
• Please install with full administrator rights. Even though standard Windows user rights are sufficient to start and use OpenColor, administrator rights may be required to access the network drives. 

Download the installer

In the GMG Download Center, you have two possibilities to download our software. 

• Web Installer (Default Option): Recommended if the target computer is connected to the internet.
• Full Installer (Offline Installer): Recommended if the target computer is not connected to the internet.

Install GMG OpenColor (first time installation)

1. Download the installation package of your choice
2. Double-click the *.EXE file.
3. The InstallShield Wizard will guide you through the process.
4. Start the application.

Licensing

• If you start GMG OpenColor for the first time on a new PC, a new online license system will be generated. During the creation, you will receive a serial number for your system, which is required to receive licenses. (Please name this serial number when ordering licenses.)
• If your system is already allocated to an online license system, it will automatically pick up available licenses from the cloud.
