Why is a firmware update important?
For the color and print quality of your print it is very important that the firmware is up to date. Epson regularly provides updates to improve the performance and reliability of your printer, to fix bugs, and ensure color accuracy and compatibility with current software versions. The firmware updates occasionally include also security updates for the network connection and updates for the SpectroProofer.
Where can I find the right firmware?
The easiest way to find the latest firmware is to use the Epson Software Updater. The updater automatically searches for new versions of firmware, drivers, and optional software for the installed printer.
You can also automate the search for updates (daily, weekly, monthly...).
Otherwise, the firmware can be:
- downloaded from the Epson support website. Example: Downloads for Epson SureColor SC-P7500
- downloaded from the Epson Download Center
- started via the Epson Edge Dashboard
- started via the printer's web interface (EpsonNet Config)
Note:
When updating the firmware via the network, you will need to enter the administrator password!
The initial password can be found in the right ink cartridge holder.
