Resolved issues
This version provides higher stability and fixes the following bugs:
-
Job Ticket Hotfolder – DB3 gradation curve not applied
Gradation curves that were defined in the DB3 spot color database were not applied in jobs processed over a Job Ticket Hotfolder. -
Hotfolder – Job processing issue
ColorProof did not process jobs if a hotfolder was deleted. Opening and saving another hotfolder was required to process files again. -
Channel mapping rule set – Filter
Using the filter in the channel mapping rule set led to deletion of the unfiltered rules. -
Margins issue
In some cases, the values for the margins in a manual job could not be changed. In other cases, hotfolder jobs ran into wrong error messages, like: Error: “Job Preview: Image(s) outside printable area “, even though the image was placed well within the printable area. -
Smart Hotfolder – Loss of channel mapping rules after update
Smart Hotfolder rules were lost after upgrading ColorProof 5.17.0.49 to 5.17.0.69. -
Manual Job Manager – Preview
In some cases there was no preview in the Manual Job Manager. -
Spot Color Defaults from PDF Alternate Color Space
The activated check box ‘Spot Color Defaults from PDF Alternate Color Space’ in the general settings got deactivated after restarting ColorProof. -
Danish/Finnish OS – Update error
ColorProof 5.16 could not be updated to 5.17 on some Danish and Finnish operating systems.
Error message: “A technical error occurred” -
UI performance
The ColorProof UI reacted slower on some systems with an SQLite database compared to the previous SQ CE database. -
OpenColor – Published static profiles with missing spot colors
OpenColor jobs could not be printed if the published profile did not contain all required spot colors. ColorProof failed to apply DB3 values for the missing channels. This issue did not occur when publishing the entire project in OpenColor, instead of only the static profile. The fix requires the updated versions of ColorProof 5.17.1 and OpenColor 3.4.
Error message: “Error initializing OpenColor profile creation” -
OpenColor – MXD jobs could not be sent to remote site
Remote proofing was not possible with jobs containing an MXD profile.
Error message: “Archive could not be created” in the menu: System > Remote proofing > File Upload -
GMG ProofPaper Matte 140 – Missing PANTONE solid uncoated V5

Epson SC-S9100 – Expanded color gamut for packaging proofs and prototypes
GMG ColorProof now supports the Epson SureColor SC-S9100, a high-performance printer optimized for packaging proofs and prototypes. With its 11-color UltraChrome GS3 ink system, including green ink, it delivers an extended color gamut for precise and vibrant results. The SC-S9100 is specifically engineered for printing with white on transparent and metallic films, ensuring consistent color reproduction even in the most demanding packaging applications. The Calibration Creation Wizard enables custom calibration sets and output conditions for GMG OpenColor 3.3 and later. For a complete list of supported print modes and proof media, please visit Supported proof printers, proof media, and print modes.
Control the UV lamp power for Roland MG, LG, and MO printers
You can now adjust the UV lamp intensity for Roland printers of the MG, LG, and MO series. This flexible yet precise control enables optimal print results even on media where the standard lamp intensity would normally be too high. Additionally, this feature opens up new possibilities for decoration techniques where curing the ink is not desired. For example, you can now use varnish ink as an adhesive to apply cold foils (e.g., silver or metallic). The UV lamp intensity setting can be found under Printer properties > Job Defaults > Job Default Settings > UV Lamp Irradiation Intensity (%).

Workflow settings – "Save & Close" button greyed out
After importing custom filter settings, the "Save & Close" button in the workflow settings became unavailable and appeared greyed out. -
Update notification appearing behind the main window
After snoozing an update notification with the "Not now" option, the subsequent notification appeared behind the main ColorProof window and was inaccessible to the user. -
Jobticket processing – failing MX4-based remote jobs
Jobticket hotfolders that had an OpenColor standard set as the fallback proof standard in the workflow settings were unable to process MX4-based remote jobs. -
Job import failures
Jobs failed to import if the linked calibration had already been imported into the ColorProof database. Additionally, a clear error message was missing.
