A Job Ticket Hotfolder allows you to control job settings dynamically via XML files. Instead of defining fixed processing parameters in the workflow itself, settings such as proof standards or scaling can be provided per job through a job ticket.
The job ticket (XML file):
- is copied into the hotfolder together with the image file
- contains processing parameters (e.g., proof standard, scaling, color mapping)
- controls how the job is processed
How to set up a job ticket hotfolder
- Create a new Hotfolder. Select Job Ticket as Hotfolder type.
- Create a workflow in GMG ColorProof and connect it to the Job Ticket Hotfolder.
- Drop the files you want to proof and the corresponding XML job tickets into input path of the job ticket hotfolder.
- The referenced input files are processed according to the defined parameters of the job tickets and the connected workflow.
How job ticket workflows differ from standard workflows
Important: Only one workflow can be connected to a Job Ticket Hotfolder.
A workflow connected to a Job Ticket Hotfolder behaves differently from a regular workflow. The following functions are grayed out or are not visible in the user interface (because they are expected to be defined in the job ticket rather than in the workflow configuration):
Filters (file format is fixed to *.proof)
Merge Files
Remote Proofing
Nesting
