Printer Calibration and Measuring Condition
Printer calibration is a self-contained process. Regardless of whether it is performed under measuring condition M0 or M1, the result is a calibrated printer that can reproduce the desired colors within defined target values and tolerances. Auto-calibration with the ILS30, for example, is always done under the M1 measuring condition. You do not need to change anything.
Verification of proof standards using a control strip is also an independent process with its own target values and tolerances. Each proof standard defines these values and the associated tolerances; they are checked when measuring the control strip.
For a PSO proof standard, for example, the target values are M1 values and are also measured under the M1 measuring condition. For an ISO 39 standard, the target values are M0 values, which are verified under the M0 measuring condition accordingly.
