Information on ProductionSuite backups:
Backup files are limited to around 2GB. Once you exceed that size your backup files will not be created properly - unfortunately there's no error or warning message. You can check a backup though by just opening the ZIP file (on Windows a ZIP is treated like a regular folder and you don't even need to extract it).
So it's advised to always make also backups of individual printers.
Up to version 2.1.7 there was a lot of cached data embedded into PMMs, which could have them growing a to 50-100MB (in rare cases even larger). Starting with 2.1.8 this no longer happens (but the software is unable to remove old cache elements). So if you experience PMMs growing beyond 50MB you might consider recreating them. In some case you can export the measurements and write down the separation settings (per channel limits, ink mixing setting and TAC) to very quickly regenerate a new version of of PMMs. For some printer variants the charts have changed from 2.0 to early 2.1 versions in which export of measurement data from old 2.0.x PMMs into new 2.1.8 (or higher) PMMs will not work. In this case please consider rebuilding the PMM from scratch. (*)
As PMMs are zipped archives, their size plays a vital role in the maximum size of a backup. So reducing the number of PMMs that are > 30MB can significantly help keeping backup files under 2GB.
(*) due to serious improvements in PMM technology, users should replace any remaining 1.x PMMs with PMMs generated in 2.1.8 or higher.
1.x PMMs are typically < 5MB, date from 2012 or 2013 and had to be calculated specifically for a single output space simulation (like GRACoL). In SmartProfiler and Editor they only have 1 VARIANT: Standard
