Morning all,
Below is a little addendum to the slide I sent re: the cloud connectivity issues.
We are seeing more complex proxy servers being used on corporate networks which block the application as well as ports. So if software manager gives 1 tick and 1 cross it is likely that it is being blocked by a proxy server. To prove this you can open the softwaremanager.log file in c:/users/public, which will show if a proxy is refusing the connection, for example:
You have attempted to use an application which is in violation of your internet usage policy
<div class="app-title">Proxy.HTTP</div>
<div class="app-info">Category: Proxy</div>
<div class="app-info">URL: http://api.aurelon.com/api</div>
<div class="app-info">Client IP: 172.16.3.97</div>
<div class="app-info">Server IP: 35.172.41.128</div>
<div class="app-info">User name: PLMLOGON</div>
<div class="app-info">Group name: Domain Users</div>
<div class="app-info">Policy: 0213b6ae-91fc-51e6-8202-e7ddc78e9a36</div>
<div class="app-info">FortiGate Hostname: IDS-NGFW-52</div> </div>
So the process to check for connectivity errors should be:
Windows Firewall?
Local AntiVirus?
Port checks:
Then (or before) check the software manager log for proxy errors.
Hope this is helpful.
Kind regards,
Kristel
PS: I'll be back re the open questions from the meeting next week as everyone is travelling this week. Apologies for that...
