User-based licensing in GMG Manage

In this model, licenses are associated with a specific user (identified by an email address, ID, and password) and authenticated via our Single-Sign-On (SSO) which allows our users to use the same credentials in between GMG applications. This structure simplifies access management and offers more flexibility for organizations by assigning rights to specific individuals instead of machines.

Note: We only support named users, meaning each user must have their own individual account. This helps to ensure that all team members have the appropriate access and allows for better management of user roles and permissions. Using generic user names shared by multiple users is not supported.

The first user who requests to register, receives the administrative role, which allows to manage licenses for other team members. Admins can:

• Invite additional users / remove users
• Assign usage rights and roles 
• Manage and track licenses within their organization
• Track subscription renewals and license utilization

This licensing model is available for specific GMG products on a subscription basis, where each "seat" is linked to a user account.  All products in this category are accessible only via subscription plans. Users must have an active subscription to continue using the software.

An org admin is invited (upon request), signs up and is linked to the respective organization.The org admin manages all user-based subscriptions via GMG Manage, inviting further members and assigning usage rights to them.

Flexible usage across devices
A user-based license allows one user to access the software on multiple devices, as the license is tied to the individual rather than a specific machine. However, to ensure compliance, the user must log out on Device A before logging in on Device B. Once logged in, users can work offline for up to 30 days, providing flexibility even without a constant internet connection.
