In the system-based licensing model, licenses are associated with a specific system rather than with individual users. This means that the licenses are tied directly to a machine, either through a physical license dongle or through our softlicensing (online licensing).
This model differs from user-based licensing as it doesn’t require user-specific accounts. Instead, the license is bound to the system itself, allowing any user on that system to utilize the software as long as the system is licensed.

Unlike user-based licenses, system-based licenses do not necessarily require registration with GMG Manage as the licenses are directly transferred to the defined end systems. |

*Exception: The GMG ColorPlugin for Photoshop is currently licensed on a system basis but will transition to user-based licensing soon. For this reason, it will not be accessible in GMG Manage as system-based product.
Benefits of using GMG Manage for system-based licensing, especially when having multiple systems:
- Centralized Overview: With GMG Manage, you can create a comprehensive view of all your licensed systems in one place, making it easier to monitor and manage your setup.
- Request Temporary Licenses: Manage allows you to request temporary licenses directly, enabling you to set up or maintain systems swiftly without relying on office hours in Germany.
- Transfer Licenses: You can easily transfer licenses from one system to another (e.g., when upgrading hardware or replacing a damaged system), reducing the time and effort required to reallocate licenses.
